NOVEMBER
2004 - The Grand Quintile
At present – the week after the waning half moon of November 5 –
a grand quintile will come to full exposure: Earth/Sun are coming to the
midpoint of what is throbbing in the background since quite a while –
the four slow planets Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto and Uranus in a 72-degree
sequence. It will be on November 6 when planet Earth is at the exact juncture
between Uranus/Saturn and Pluto/Jupiter, igniting the sleeping potentials
of those outer giants.
A grand quintile is a perfect 5-star, a pentagram. The circle segmented
in 5 arcs of 72 degrees is a tremendously dynamic pattern, for the five
as a structural number only appears in living organisms like plants and
animals, implying growth and evolution. The five is the meeting of the
two and the three, of Yin and Yang.
The slowest two of the five, Uranus and Pluto, are resonating the fifth
harmonic since many months, and they will be within exact angle until
March 2005. It is in the nature of the five - its inherent potentials
are activated and freed in the battle zone only. This is the great challenge
of any quintile aspect, one has to allow merging with the contradiction.
Full exposure is necessary, one has to embrace duality and disappear into
it. In this sense, the frequency of the five asks us to be consumed by
and absorbed in the process, with no second thought. Only this totality,
mysteriously and magically, culminates in orgasm and rebirth, in awakening
to a new self. Hence, the most basic here is to be non-judgmental; to
drop any thought of good and bad, but seeing the mere energetic play between
polarities; surrendering to the electro-magnetic attraction and allowing
being overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment – without personal
agenda, and therefore without hope nor regret. Burning with such intense
energy means serving creation and falling in tune with existence's call.
It just happens that planet Saturn, being one of the players in the 5-star,
reaches the peak of his yearly wave as seen from Earth, right on November
7, around 10 p.m. PST. That means, for the entire period of Saturn's
backward drop (till March 21, 2005), Saturn carries the grand quintile's
creative and process-oriented energy pattern. While Earth and Sun are
integral parts of this formation, Mars in Libra is adding great punch.
The red planet is separating from the waxing square it makes with Saturn,
strongly activating and feeding radical and confrontational approaches.
This waxing square actually is the most potent aspect Mars and Saturn
can be in.

In this context it is good to know that Mars was at its waning square
with Saturn on New Year's Eve of 2004, in addition to that also squaring
Sun and Earth, while Saturn back then had it's 30-year closest encounter
with our planet. Then, on May 22, 2004, when Mars and Saturn met in the
skies, starting off yet another of their mutual cycles, Michael Moore
was honored with the ‘Palme d'Or' for his documentary ‘Fahrenheit
9/11'.
It seems to me that Mars and Saturn are the planets of this year. With
this in mind we shouldn't underestimate the repercussion of this cosmic
adrenaline injection.
Furthermore, as Saturn is approaching his station on November 7, for many
weeks the ‘Lord of the Rings' hovers around the 27 th degree of
Cancer, the very degree the Moon occupied when Saturn
entered the sign of Cancer in April 2003. Cancer is the sign of roots
and tradition, of confronting fears and inner weaknesses.

Saturn now having
pulled up the Moon’s placement in hits Cancer ingress chart means
we have come to the heart of the matter, as close to the beast as one
can get. This 'beast' are the shadows of the sign Cancer, appearing as
all kinds of fears and depressions which we are tending to nurture when
holding on to a victim mentality.
Once more looking at present alignments: The hour Saturn comes to a halt
in the night of November 7, the Moon is in Virgo at its waning square
to Pluto in Sagittarius. This aspect by itself is highly confrontational,
but not of the youthful heat and aggressiveness the waxing square Mars/Saturn
carries. The Moon's waning square rather speaks of conscious reorientation,
rebellion based on wisdom. And the Moon in Virgo is cautious, intelligent,
able to protect and take care of one's soul's needs.
One
more thought on the magic properties of the 5-star
The Pentagram
is a very old magic symbol. When it stands on two points it is considered
being a symbol of White Magic, representing divine ceation at work, whereas
standing on one single edge it's the Devil's symbol, Baphomet.
I don't know
of any other symbol that changes its meaning quite drastically, just by
the turn of 36 degrees.
Yes, today it
dawned on me why this is so. The number five, being the compliment of
Yin and Yang, implies the coming together of duality. Hence when standing
on two edges there are two principles uniting, sharing their energies
in a Tantric union.
When the Pentagram
stands on one edge only, it can't be creative, for it does not allow the
coming together of two different priciples. Standing on one edge implies
egotism and selfishness, a closed mind which thinks he knows it all. Also
arising from an aestethic point of view, standing on the one edge only,
the 5-star is imbalanced, any moment ready to tip over.
