The Year 2004

General Overview - published in January 2004

2004 will prove being a magical key year on our journey towards self-realization and transformation. The numerological progression 2-4-6 in itself is intrinsically special, kicking off the sequence of all even numbers, igniting great order, generating rhythm and distinct movement.

But there is much more to 2004’s uniqueness:

January 1, 2004, literally being the birthday of the year, is carrying the seed for what's to come.

In the Maya Calendar Tzolk'in (Dreamspell) January 1 vibrates with 1 BEN energy, the Red Magnetic Skywalker. BEN - also ‘Pillars of Light’ - is a day of centering, of inner strength, of standing upright like the corn plant; free, all on its own.

The astrological alignments right at midnight of New Year’s day were amazingly unique too. Saturn had its closest approach to planet Earth for decades – exactly opposing the Sun, while forming a T-square with Mars, the fiery planet that just last summer had its closest encounter with our planet in eons. Mars and Saturn’s ‘bend-or-break aspect’ calls of radicalism and disillusionment, but also of straight and focussed approach, hitting the core of the matter.

Then there is planet Uranus, now unequivocally in the mysterious realms of the sign of Pisces, bringing light into the dark recesses of our unconscious, challenging us to face our fears and cut loose from mass mind indoctrination.

With more than 50’000 km diameter, Uranus and Neptune are huge planets, they are the most distant ones of the big planets, the two guardians at the edge of our Solar system, at the threshold of infinity. It is very remarkable that till 2011, those two gas giants are in each other’s sign - Uranus in Pisces, and Neptune in Aquarius – what in astrology is called ‘mutual reception’. Like Venus and Mars on more physical and material levels, so do Neptune and Uranus represent duality on spiritual and transpersonal levels.
Love, mystic union and compassion (Neptune) are now expressed through Aquarius, the sign of science, ideals and collective interaction; while Uranus representing the search for ultimate individuation and enlightenment filters through the sign of Pisces, the cosmic melting pot, where all divergence is absorbed and contradictions are unified.
Thirst for true spirituality is becoming increasingly strong. This combination of Uranus and Neptune’s energy stirs us to dive deep into the mysterious, to find out, each individual for himself. This is a gate opening to higher understanding, beyond the linear; an invitation to leave behind the boundaries of rational mind. We are exposed to something yet unknown, catapulted into heights where we can touch the divine. Gaps might occur where sudden insights become possible. More and more often we may find being pushed into spaces where duality is transcended, where all our judgements loose their meanings. Opposites like good and bad, light and dark, health and sickness become complementaries. Everything reveals itself as being holy, the devil included. So the chances are big that for the first time in aeons true religiousness will descend on Earth.
It is interesting to know that the word religion is derived from the Latin word ‘re-ligio’, meaning reconnecting with the roots. Now it makes lots of sense that each one has to reconnect with his own roots. So religion never can be a public affair, it is something very private and intimate. Realizing this, many individuals will find it’s about time to say good-bye to organized religions, realizing that the whole purpose of those teachings is to prevent us from investigating ourselves. Isn’t it so that before we are old enough to pronounce our own questions we are stuffed with cheap answers. In most perfidious ways guilt and fear are implanted. Now nothing gives better results in deeming us powerless then being turned against our own foundation, against our own physical bodies. We really can’t evolve into a more dignified humanity unless organized religions are recognized for what they are - systems of indoctrination and mind-control, designed to make people fight with themselves, caught in a self-destructing loop. All human insanity - be it war, repressed and perverse sexuality, destruction of nature, etc. - can be traced back to the deep split within our psyche provoked by religious indoctrination.

In less than a decade the overall energy has geared up for three times in a row. Look at your life, decide for yourself: 1995 Pluto entered Sagittarius, 1998 Neptune stepped into Aquarius; and in 2003 Uranus tested Pisces. Each time the pressure on the unconscious has been increased, pushing us to a higher plane.

Now the most crucial period has begun, Pluto’s passage through the Galactic Center, lasting till 2008. Pluto represents transformation as such, while the Galactic Center being the hub of our galaxy Milky Way resonates with our innermost core. This will be Pluto's first passage through the Galactic Center since its discovery in 1930, which means this time the core transformation will be encountered in a conscious way, so this will be the very heart of the transformational process. It can be a sacred passage - or a rough ride - or both at the same time. It all depends how much we are ready to change, to go with the flow - or how stubborn we are, attached to the old, over-identified with name, fame, status, money and power. The choice is ours.

Centered in the heart there is love and deep knowing; while lingering in the head worry, fear and anguish reign. So the main focus is on how to come down from the head to the heart, how to be in harmony with the greater whole. Squeeze the juice out of every moment, celebrate being alive during such an extraordinary and exciting time. It's only in rare times that evolution is progressing at such incredible speed.

We definitely are in a countdown, surrounded by tremores, heralding massive changes beyond our wildest dreams. Now it's up to each one of us. Are we still holding on to rotten structures - or, are we able to move with the currents, understanding that the present crisis is just the birthpains of an altogether new era. So it really is the fight between past and future that is escalating. Our heads represent the past, for they contain what has been given to us by society - conditionings, beliefs and concepts; whereas our heart beats in tune with the future - courageous and trusting, surrendering to invisible harmony, in resonance with the universal heartbeat.
